    All you good Christians both male and female
    Of all persuasions and each degree
    Pray pay attention and hear with patience
    A conversation between death and me.
    As I was condoling with my good neighbours
    Whose signs and moans made the valleys ring
    Each thought of nature had quite forsaken
    The lovely plains of sweet Adrian hills
    As I was sequestered in a lonesome shade
    I sat bewailing to vent my grief
    Being interupted by a voice repeating
    "Don't be uneasy you'll get relief".
    With admiration I asked this creature.
    What was his name who did me confute
    I am that bailif who was fame in Eden
    By Adam eating the forbidden fruit.
    If you be that bailif Oh cruel creature
    For such a seizure you ne're made before
    The religious champion and pride of Erin
    You stole away from Ballinamore.
