  1. Once there was a little boy who lived in Snugboro. He lived with his mother in a little cottage. One day she sent him to Ballyconnell for pepper and salt.
    He could not remember it so he kept on repeating "pepper and salt". On his way he fell. Then he forgot it altogether. When he went on further he thought he remembered it so he began to sing, "Very well minded, hooks and hinges".
