  1. Local Marriage Customs.
    Shrove is supposed to be the luckiest time for marriages, and May the most unlucky month. There are alos unlucky days. it is said Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday the best day of all. Thursday for losses. Friday for crosses, and Saturday no day at all.
    Bottles are blown on the eve of the marriage, that night and the night and the night after. The reception or breakfast as it is called is usually held at the bride's home and given by her mother. After breakfast the newly married pair and
