- (continued from previous page)is removed my father and big brothers cart out farmyard manure on the stubble land and then when the manure is spread they plough the land. We then leave it so until early spring when the sowing time comes. Then we till the land and plant the potatoes in drills which are made by a double moulding plough.
Wooden ploughs were used long ago. The spades in use are bought in the shop and are made in Ireland.
