Bolacrean, Ferns. - 19-5-35The local forge
There are two forges in the district. The smith's name in one of them is Brien Kenny and the smith's name in the other is Brien Kenny aswell. One of the forges is beside the road and there is a draw-well beside it and there is a thatched roof on it.
The other is in a village called the Harrow, and there is a stream running a long the side of the road about fifteen yards away from it.
There is one fireplace in both of the forges; there is a bellows in the two of them.
The smith shoes horses and asses and he makes farm implements and binds car wheels.Joe Rothwell (13)
