    Strange Animals.
There is a hill known as Webster's Hill about 1/4 mile from Rockspring.
In Winter "the Death Coach" or the "Dead Coach" is sometimes seen on it. The four horses drawing it are coal-black and their stamping can be heard for miles. When it crosses over the hill it disappears from sight.
It is considered very unlucky for anyone to see or hear it.

  2. A black dog is supposed to follow travellers who are out late.
It appears suddenly near the side of the traveller and keeps step with him for some-time. Then it runs in front for about 40 yards. It comes back then and walks behind him. Its feet make no noise even on fallen leaves. It disappears when crossing
