  1. After the fighting around Arklow and Gorey in 98 a number of men went into hiding among the rocks and bushes at Clone Strand.

    They were fed by the people of the neighbourhood. The Yoes were informed of this, surrounded the place and set the bushes on fire. The rebels however had been told of the approach of the soldiers and had fled.
