    Maura Alanna
    The Pride of the Lee
    The sun clouds of even,
    Were spreading in heaven,
Their purple veils o'er the flower bosom of Mary,
A wierd fairy shade to the landscape, was given,
As sunsets red glories were fading away,
    Where a vision more tender,
    Than twilight's soft splendour,
Did o'er my rapt spirit in extasy flee,
Far sweeter than Mana 'twas Maura Alanna,
The young primrose queen of the blue winding Lee,
Her bosom was star'd with a bunch of primroses
Her dear sweet companions in childhood and joy,
To her fairy like form they lent a such charm,
Like a golden cloud hung on a rosy May sky,
These flowers with this maiden were handmaids from Eden.
All seeming in bloom with cheeks to agree,
The seem'd glad to attend here,
