Here is a story about the forge- water. One night when Mr John Murphy , age 75 years, of Tomhaggard was coming home from work. He saw a light in the forge and he went in. Mr Tom Redmond of Tomhaggard was working in there. Mr John Murphy sat down and started to complain about his feet. He said that they were sore after working all day. Mr Redmond told him to take off his boots and get in to the tub of water and [..] in it for a few minutes. When he got out he put on his boots without drying his feet. He then went home.
