    done. The are cut in halves and if the are big the are cut in quarters and the has to be at least one eye in each split for the stalk to grow. Then when the are cut there is lime and turf mould trown up on them to make them grow quick. Then the drop them, three across the ridge and so many down the ridge. Sometimes when the come up to soon the frost burn's them. Afterwards the blight comes and the are sprayed with water, blue stone and washing soda but if it rains it is washed and the have to be sprayed again.
