    During these penal days some people were afraid to stay in their own houses at night for fear that they would be shot and there were several men shot at their own homes.
    There was a man reaping in a field for a widow woman in Tonneywarden during those penal days and when he was going out this morning he put a piece of oaten bread in his pocket for fear he would not be in that night and he was found dead and the woman knew it was he because she got the piece of oaten bread in his pocket.
    My father told me all this information, and he is years.
