    baked on a griddle.
    Some people used to make soda bread and the ingredients they used were flour, salt, soda and they would wet it with butter milk and they would bake it in a hot oven and they would put the sign of the cross on it to keep it from cracking.
    There was special bread made on special occasions.
    On Shrove Tuesday night there were pancakes made a bride's cake for a wedding party and a currant cake for Sunday.
