   Once upon a time there was a man who had a lime kiln. This night he was out standing at it, and he saw a troop of horse going by. The leipreachán was leading the party and he beconed to the man to come along with them. He did so and the leipreachán gave him his own horse. They ran a race from Ballinasloe to Ballinamuck and the man they took in won the race. They gave him a find pound note and praised him on his victory. He went home, kept the money in his hand and went to bed. When he woke up in the
