    Sonna until he was dead. His mangled remains were hung on a tree.
    On the following day when Hempenstall had recovered he brought his soldiers in force to demolish the homes of Sonna.
    But he was met by Sean Fagan and his men and they were put to flight.
    He succeeded eventually in burning out the homes of the Sonna people, and murdering defenceless women and children but the men carried on the guerrilla warfare and caused considerable havoc to the troops.
    Sonna weak members of the clans who were unable to fight were dispatched to Kerry so that the Kerry Caseys and others are descendants of the Sonna and Sonna Clansmen.
