  1. The water in which orange lilies are boiled cures Rheumatism.
    A few drops of ammonia on a piece of cotton wool pressed in the hollow of the tooth stops the pain at once.
    Ammonia stops the pain of wasp and midge stings and keeps it from swelling.
    Bruises are best treated by covering them with a linen bandage soaked in vinegar and water.
    Cottom wool soaked in olive oil and put into the ear will cure an earache.
    Boils can be cured by putting a bread-poultice on every three hours.
