On the east side of Lough Derravaragh there is a meadow which is owned by Mr Patrick Kane. This meadow which is called Leine Quinn was owned by a man named Quinn long ago.
On the north side of Ballinfaid which is on the main road between Mullingar and Longford there is a bush called "Piper's bush". Every Sunday a piper came to this bush and played music. A large gathering assembled and a dance was held during the day or in the long summer nights.
