  1. It is said when the sun sets a rich red, the following day will be fine, and when there is a pale sunset and the sky red all round, it is the sign of wet and stormy weather. When the Dublin red is up in the morning, it is a sure sign of a wet day. When there is a circle round and near the moon, it is a sign of wet weather. When the stars are plentiful and shining bright, it is the sign of a frosty night. When the clouds are rolling heavily and very black it is the sign of wet weather and a rainbow in the evening is the sign of fine weather. A south-west or westerly wind brings most rain to our district. When the crows flock together and fly hither and thither, it is the sign of stormy weather. Swallows flying high is the sign of fine weather and swallows flying low is the sign of bad weather. When the lambs are seen jumping and playing in the fields, it is the sign of fine weather. When cattle lie on the top of hills, it is the sign of fine weather. When we see the cat sitting with his back to the fire and licking himself, it is the sign of fine weather. When the cat scrapes his nails on things it is the sign of wet weather. When the dog eats the grass it is the sign of wet weather. When there is a clear blue
