    Once there was a person who lived in Necrew...

    Once there was a person who lived in Necrew and the people called him the Smasher Pollard. He went to wrestle a big Tom Geraghty from Oldtown. Pollard threw him out of the ring and he asked him in again for another turn and Geraghty told him he would wrestle a man and not a beast. It was said that Pollard had a jaw bown like a horse.
    Andy Doyle from Meedin was a good wrestler in his time. He wrestled Red Jim Lyster out of the Park.
    One time a cow got into a river and Big Tom Geraghty took a holt of her and lifted her out himself and said, " a cow aself is heavy."
    Tom Cambell from Piercetown could mow an acre of oats in a day with an old blunt scythe.
    Jack Tyrell from Rhode jumped a twenty five foot river.
    Old Mick Cunningham eat twelve salty fish for a shilling.
    Black Mat Geraghty from Oldtown was one of the best story tellers about
