    Fire Cranes
    Fire cranes were of different shapes one kind was hung on the side of the fire place and swung like a gate. Another was suspended from a crossbar that was placed high up on the chimney and was adjusted as required to suit the pots that were hung over the fire.
    From the crane that was hung on the side of the fire-place on the projecting arm hooks were suspended and the pots were hung over the fire by attaching the pot hooks to a crook which was hooked to the extended arm.
    Ploughs
    Ploughs were made by the the local blacksmith from the raw iron.
    The beam was the front of the plough to which the horses were attached.
    The cultur went through a socket in the beam and was held in position by
    wedges. The soe was fixed on a point on the front of the mould board and sole plate and behind the cultur
