  1. About 30 years ago a woman named May White was going to a neighbour's house. A camp of tinkers were camping on her way in the side of the road called Joyces. One of the young Joyces called her mother names. May told her that she was very bold and that she should not be disobedient to her mother. So the girls mother attacked May and she had to run for her life. She came down to Mat Whelehan's house my grandfathers. She had to get my grandmother bonet and cabe that the tinker woman would not know her. She got home safely.
