  1. Myles O'Reilly known as "Myles the Slasher" and his family are supposed to have owned Ross Castle at one time.
    During the Cromwellian campaign there was a battle fought at Finea.
    It is said that Myles slept in Ross Castle the night before the Battle of Finea. Next day he and his army held the bridge of Finea against Cromwell's soldiers. But Myles was killed.
