    A Brave Hero
Captain Ahern is a very brave man. His old home is at Ross, 3 miles from our house. He is famed all over the world for jumping on horse back.
He is one of the best horse-men in the Free State army, he won a lot of prizes all over the world.
He met with an accident in Loughcrew while hunting and the horse got torn with wire, but he is all right again.
We all feel very proud when we see his picture in the newspaper, and read of his successes in America and Belgium and other countries
