   The players stand about fifteen yards back. Each in turn throws three sticks, each about a yard long at the skittles. If the centre skittle is knocked it means ten for the player. Where as the other four count for five each. The game is generally played for hundred. The winner is the person who first gets a hundred, but each player gets the same number of chances.

   Hidden Treasure Written by; Lillie O'Shea, Thomastown, 16th Feb 1938. Our teacher has asked us to write about a place where there is hidden treasures. Where I live there is a moat about a half a mile from me. And that moat is called Diamor. It is situated in the parish of Kilskyre, people say that there is gold in it. A certain man deamt of that moat and he would not be let dig it up. There was a man going to a fair one day in Kells to sell a beast and going by this moat he saw this man coming
