    he would go, and he did so. He was brought into the moat where he saw a crowd of military with swords and they were all asleep. He saw a sword hanging out of its scabbard so he stretched over his hand to catch hold of it, and all the soldiers caught hold of theirs also. Then he got afraid and let it go and it is said that if he had to pull it out of the scabbard the soldiers would free Ireland.
