    If a blue flame appears in the fire it is a sign of a storm.
    If a cat sits with his back to the fire it is a sign of a storm.
    If a dog eats grass or drinks water it is a sign of bad weather.
    If a cloud called "Goat's Hair" appears in the sky it is a sign of rain.
    If red strips appear in the sky it is a sign of frost.
    If crows make much noise flying through the air it is a sign of fine weather.
    If swallows fly low it is a sign of bad weather.
    If a rainbow appears in the sky it is a sign of rain.
    If the wind comes from the North it is a sign of snow.
    If a train a distance away can be heard clearly it is a sign of frost.
    If New Year's day is fine it is said the pot will freeze by the fire in Spring.
    If Trim bell can be heard clearly it is a sure sign of rain.
