    meal.
The men and women got up very early in the morning. The women lighted the fire. Then they went with the men to the fields to milk the cows and give hay to them before their breakfast. When the work was done they had their breakfast.
The food they had was oatmeal bread and newmilk for their breakfast. Then they had potatoes and water-cress for their dinner and a mug of buttermilk. In the evening they had buttermilk pancakes and cocoa.
