  1. In olden times bread was made from wheat, oaten-meal, and flour. People used make leaven bread, which was made from the porridge left over after the supper, miss it with wheaten-meal, and a drop of water, and it was baked or the griddle for two hours. Potato cake and oaten-meal bread was made in a can. bread was made every day of the week.
