There was a hedge school long ago at Knockatour, in the house where Edward Ryan is living now. The teacher was Michael O Donoghue.
There was another school in Cloonanaha, in the house where William Collier lives presently and the teacher was Peter Mc Curtin.
The teachers long ago had no homes. They used to go home a night in turn with each pupil.
