    oidhche le brighde baintear an ceann as an bhfeircín agus itheann an dailtín a dhóthain.The firkin would be opened on St Bridgets night .Butter usede to be kept in piggins until next churning day.
    No weights before that but piggins and gallons for measuring butter at the butter houses.
    Cans were used for bringing the butter to the butter houses.The woman used to carry the butter on her head -under the can she had a round roller made of cloth.There used to be three cans on the top of the press in every house.
    Timber tubs for holding the milk .Coopers were very busy at that time.There is a cooper making firkins ,etc in Kilmaley still(Mc Donnell Garrynagry).
    Spinning Wheel used extensively in this parish.There are some spinning wheels used still.
