    axe severd the head from Neds body. He took it to Cashel only to find bride withdrawn as Ned had saved the life of an English Lady and had been pardoned.
    On coming home he threw the head over a ditch.
    Ned's body lies at Curraheen near Foilacluig Hollyford. Some people unearthed a coffin some years ago but did not remove the remains of Eamonn a Chnuic.
