About a hundred and forty years ago three men were hanged on our stream which divides Gurtavoher east and Gurtavoher West. The names of the three men were two brother Lonergans and Fox. They were hanged for knocking a wall around Mr. Massey's estate and it was said that a woman was killed. The three men that were hanged were innocent of the woman's death, and Massey knew that they were not friendly with him and he wanted them out of the way. The three men are buried in Clonbeg.
