    Rushes are the most harmful weeds on our farm. They are harmful because they spread over the land. The thistle only grows on fertile land. Black-buttons and ribbon-grass are found in poor land. House-leek cures ring-worms and the virgin thistle cures warts. The old people used these long ago as cures.
