  1. The food of to-day is much different from the food of long ago. There was no such thing as tea. For each meal they had potatoes and sour milk Sometimes they had bread made from water and barley meal. They had no tables to eat from but big blocks of wood put in the middle of the floor and when they were not in use they were put aside.
