  1. On the farm of Mary Meara Boulabeha is a fort. Her father Bill Meara was ploughing the fort field and she was only a little baby. In those days there were no prams or cots and so the mother used to but Mary in the bed in a room in front of the kitchen when out working in the yard. This evening when Bill was ploughing the headlands, he was infringing on the fort. The mother had left the child in the bed, and when she came in again, in a few minutes the child was at the very side of the fire. She made this known to her husband when he came home from the garden, and the morning after he turned down again a few sods near the fort
