  1. Another Local Song (continued)

My name it is Bob Stapleton ¶ I am a native of Montore

    (continued from previous page)
I am as blind as any ass
There's not a poorer object from Broonaun to Bournea cross.
It is said that I can play the life
    And I can neatly dance
And I am ready for all risky work if ever I get a chance
Now if I do the risky work
    The neighbours wont me blame
The sheriff or the bailiff to me it is all the same
If I was reinstated I could wear the guards neat blue
I would put on the tidy breeches,
And come put on the tidy breeches,
And come out as good as new
I would not insult the Major when
    he called me a blackguard
He called me a blind schemer,
And he chased me from Dromard
    Composed by Michael Carey ,
    Clonakenny
    Roscrea
