    How grand to roam the shady walks,
    Those flowery dells and water;
    To ramble through those grand old woods;
    To tell some happy tales,
    In bowers green where lovers meet,
    Free form all grief and pain,
    Where nature decks the verdant plains
    Of Carden's Wild Domain.

    It grieves me sore to see this land,
    Oppressed by tyrant laws,
    To strike a blow for this fair land
    Would be in righteous cause,
    To see our sons and daughters fair,
    Compelled to cross the main,
    And leaving such a land behind
    As Carden's Wild Domain.

    So rise you men around Barnane,
    And hasten to the fray,
    And join that noble general,
    McSweeney from Killea,
    Led on by this brave mountaineer
    Their lands we will regain;
