- Cows, horses, bullocks, hens, ducks and geese
Cows seldom have names, occasionally one hears Bawny or Brackey, usually it is called from name of place where bought as Thurles cow, Roscrea cow, Ballyduag cow and so are usual driving words. Some cows are called Goons.
Cows are usually housed in long cow house or cow shed all facing one wall. They are fastened by means of rails, two of one, one is moveable and when cow puts in her head the movable rail is anchored so preventing the cow withdrawing her head.
The usual feed call for calves and pigs is suck suck
