  1. William Ryan ( Vethy ) who lived in Reafadda never wore a boot until he got Confirmation, and he was sixteen years at that time.
    These he wore until the following summer. He then took to his old custom again, and went barefooted until he was sixty four years of age. He was then a very strong man, and lived until he was seventy-six years old.
