- (continued from previous page)not know of any other old person.There was a Monastry in my district in olden times and forge for making the pikes. Brian Boru slept for a couple of nights in the monastry on his way to Battle.
- The name of my district is Toem.
The population being 16 families and the amount of people being seventy. There are 14 slated houses and 2 thatched. There are but very few over the seventy years but they still know a good deal of folklore about their own district.
Most of the people are very industrious. The chief industry being dairy farming.
Mr. McDonnell of Toem is supposed to be the second cleverest man in Ireland. - My home district is Carnahallig. There is six families in it, Ryan's, Quirke's, Dwyers, Crotty, Stapeltons, Kilbrides.
