  1. Long ago the people believed in banshees. A story was told of three men going home from rambling across the fields.
At a place called Newtown they saw a little woman combing her hair on a rock. They thought she was a real woman and went over to her. When she saw them coming she ran away and left her comb behind her.
The men examined it and left it back again. When they came out in the morning they saw the comb broken on the rock. They believed she was a banshee and when she found they touched it she broke it.
