One night a man was coming home late.

    194
One night a man awas coming home late. As he ws passing an old fort he heard voices shouting "Get a horse ready for me, and another for me" and he said " Get a horse for me". The moment he said this he was in the fort amongs hundreds of little men. They got a Boucallan and it was turned into a horse. They put the man up on the horse and they never stopped galloping over hedges and ditches till they reached the Galteen mountains. The men and horses disappeared like magic. The man said to himself " God bless the heavens" He had to walk it home and by the time he arrived homehe had not a boot on his foot. Ever afterwards he used to make the sign of the cross passing the fort.
