  1. 1/ A dandelion was a cure for a pain in the stomach. Eaten raw was the usual way to use it.
    2/ Dandelions gathered before the flowers come on, and the stems boiled and bottled is a good cure for a continuous pain in the stomach.
    3/ Coarse meal, boiled for a couple of hours is used by a lot of people.
    4/ Nettles cooked and eaten before Easter Sunday is a good cure.
    5/ A spoon of bread soda in a cup of boiled water was a good cure for a pain in the stomach.
    6/ A spoon of mustard in a cup of boiled water was also a good cure for a pain in the stomach.
    7/ Carrway seed boiled in water and left near the fire to brew, and then to drink the water.
    8/ Wood-sorrel is a good for palsy.
    9/ Cockle was a cure for blood disease.
