    Scully, the Landlords agent came with Bailiffs and police to carry out the evictions. The defenders retired to an old loft having placed a tick of feathers in front of them. The Bailiff entered first but they leveled him on the floor. Next came a policeman whom they shot at the door. Scully was severely wounded but succeeded in getting behind the pier of the gate, as he was wearing a coat of mail the bullets could not penetrate through to his body. The "defenders" retreated through a window and the evicting party returned to Tipperary and never went near Ballycoohey again. So ended the creation of any further ranches in Tipperary which had many up to that time. A few lines from the song of that day.
