    their dinner. When they came back they saw a table with a linen cloth on it and a fine dinner on it in the lios. One boy went over and tasted the food. He got sick soon afterwards and died.

    There is a "great house" in Dromkeen now owned by Mr. De Burgh a descendant of the Anglo Normans. It is told that when King William was staying at Caherconlish during the siege of Limk he was invited to Dromkeen by De Burgh. He remained there two nights and had such a good time that he made a present of the lands to Mr. De Burgh free of rents.

    An old man who lived in Caherconlish remembered hearing his father tell that there was an old chieftain living in Caherconlish and when nearing death he divided his lands on his four sons, each getting a quarter hence
