- St. Bridgets crosses were always hung inside the doors of houses in olden times. They were woven together with reeds and sometimes plated, and renewed every St. Bridgets eve, and the old ones burnt in honour of her and that by her intersessions the home be preserved from fire. Also a piece of linen put out on the window sill on St. Bridgets eve is supposed to be a cure for a headache by putting it on the forehead.
