    Oh gentle bard whose spotless spirit soared
    From halls, to grander mansions with the Lord
    We welcome sadly thy frail relics here
    And shed on thy fresh tomb a silent tear
    The time is meet for thy chosen grave
    And wild flowers soon o'er thy breast shall wave

    In days to come when kindred genius seeks
    Thy place of rest, with pride Askeaton speaks
    And points with reverent finger to thy shrine
    That holds the noblest of thy noble line
