  1. It happened on the September's fair day 1937 and (often) Denis Fitzgerald often laughs to himself when he thinks of it.
    His cart was on the square and he stood on his rail selling his ceise. A buyer offered three pounds but Denis would not part with his ceise.
    A yank who had arrived (at) to Abbeyfeale asked Denis the price he was receiving for the pig. Three pound was the reply. "If you had that pig over in New York you would get six pound for her" says the yank. "If you had the waters of the Feale in hell" says Denis "you would get ten shillings a glass for it.
