  1. A Song (continued)

The twentieth of June was the date of the year

    (continued from previous page)
For young John Aherne, I'll never forget,
Passed ball to Ambrose, right into the net
    IV
A foul in the centre brought Carrig a free,
The ball was soon placed by the good referee,
And Foster, he got it and where did he score
But over the g bar for Carrig's first goal.
    V
Next came old Carrig those boys of great fame
All through the South East, they earned their name
Lead by their captain so fearless and bold
And the colours they wore were the blue and gold.

Composed by William Quinn member of Carrigaline hurling team.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
