    was originally situated at the end of the Avenue leading into the grave-yard, and even there is a formation in the side of the fence which would correspond.
    It happened that it was desecrated by some Protestant youths from the parish of CastleLyons when passing by one night in their "cups", and that it suddenly dried up, & broke out where the present well is situated. The water of this well is never used for domestic purposes, local tradition having it (Dan Hogan[?]) that it wouldn't boil. It has been never known to go dry, or even partially dry, & the farm-house situated about one hundred yards away would never dream of using its waters, when the supply of the other well, from which they get their supply, which by the way is situated equidistant from the farm-house, & the passage to the Blessed Well is easier, yet as I have pointed out, they would never dream of using its waters, even for washing Butter or other such purposes, about which they were very particular in Summer Time, when the supply of their own well gave out.
    The well is nicely built around, and nobody again, ever remembers any body putting
