- The method of growing potatoes.
At first the soil is prepared then the drills are made and the manure is distributed. Then the potatoes are planted. In the course of a month little stalks appear above the surface then they are cleaned and fresh surface is put to them this is called "rising". In the month of June they are sprayed to prevent a disease called the "blight", they are usually sprayed three times. The spray is made of blue stone and soda. In Autumn when they are fully grown and ripe they are dug out and stored away for use in a pit in the haggard. Once in a while they are turned and the criocans are given to the pigs and the good on.es are used for eating.- Collector
